Before there was the wonderful and humorous friendship between Geralt and Jaskier, there was the friendship between Merlin and Prince Arthur. In BBC's Merlin, Merlin - the greatest sorcerer of all time - is a plucky kid who happens to get the role of manservant to Prince Arthur, the spoiled royal who has been taught to despise magic.

With Merlin forced to hide his magic while ensuring that Prince Arthur survives to become the great king he is destined to be, there are antics and great banter between these two opposites. All five seasons of Merlin are available to stream on Netflix.

For fans of supernatural and fantastic creatures found in The Witcher, their next favorite monster can be found in Netflix's Stranger Things. When eleven-year-old Will Byers goes missing, the sleepy town of Hawkins, Indiana, wouldn't dare to think monsters and demons are behind it, but Will's friends soon learn the truth.

Based on the series of books by Leigh Bardugo, the story centers on Alina Starkov, who learns that she is a sun summoner--the rarest form of Grisha (people with magic), and is destined to cross a deadly cloud of darkness called The Fold.

Shadow and Bone is available to stream on Netflix with production on Season 2 recently wrapping. Fans eagerly await for Season 2's arrival, and to see more of Shadow and Bone's fantastic world.

The Witcher sees the of kingdoms and magic and non-magic people constantly at war with one another. For fans of a world divided, look no further than Amazon Prime's Carnival Row. When the lands of the magic world are destroyed, magical creatures are forced to live with humans and are treated as second-class citizens.

However, fairy Vignette and human detective Philo team up to find out not only how to bridge the divide, but to also solve a string of murders that threaten the already unstable world of Carnival Row. Carnival Row has one season and is available to stream on Amazon Prime, with a second season on the way.

In magical worlds, there always seems to be a hierarchy of species. In The Witcher, Geralt, while feared and respected, he is not the top of the food chain. Similarly, in HBO's His Dark Materials, the world is divided by Magisterium--a powerful religious and political body.
